Clinical Trials Information
A clinical trial is a research study in which human volunteers are assigned to different interventions to evaluate the effects of those interventions on health outcomes. These interventions can include drugs, medical devices, procedures, or lifestyle changes. Clinical trials aim to determine if new medical approaches are safe and effective. Some trials require only healthy volunteers while others include individuals likely to develop or already diagnosed with a specific health condition. Many clinical trials occur before an intervention is approved by regulators, but some occur after as a way of monitoring and confirming expected outcomes of the intervention.
